Problem: During a fire drill it was discovered that the steel chequer floor was slippery. This presented a real danger particularly in a real emergency. Left unresolved there could have been disastrous consequences.

Application Situation
Steel fire escape from first floor at rear of building.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System
Leaflet FPA-8. 
Belzona Facts
The Customer was seeking a fast and effective long term solution that could be met within the budget constraints and with minimum disruption to the University. The whole floor surface was coated with Belzona 1821 and the surface blinded out with Belzona 9221. The exception being the nosings which were coated in Belzona 4411 yellow to highlight them in line with current safety legislation, Belzona 9221 was sprinkled on these areas to create sufficient grip. The application was a complete success providing safety to those using the fire escape and ensuring long term protection to the floor surface.
