General Industry (GIND)

Customer Location:

Oregon, USA

Application Date:

January 3, 2018

Application Situation:

Electrical transformer cooling fin damaged by a forklift at a local recycling center.

Forklift hit the cooling fins on an electrical transformer causing a serious oil leak.

Belzona 1212

Application Method:

The trained Belzona contractor received a call about a leaking transformer. The caller was happy to hear that Belzona would be used for the repair as they had been a Belzona user for some time. The contractor tried doing a live leak repair but the oil was coming out too fast. Next he hooked up a vacuum pump to the transformer pulling about -5 pounds. This stopped the oil flow, Belzona 1212 was applied for a permanent repair.

Belzona Facts:

The only alternative would have been to drain the oil from the transformer and replace the cooling fin. Due to the age of the transformer a replacement was not likely.
