Belzona® Protects Cooling Tower Basins For A Sugar Refinery

Sugar (SUGR)

Tanks and Chemical Containment Areas (TCC)

Customer Location:

Application Date:

July 2018

Application Situation:

The cooling basins used in this refinery were attacked by chemicals: bleach and anti-corrosion agents which are usual additives for industrial cooling waters.

After an audit, the company was asked to check that their cooling basins were in good shape. They realised that a few of them needed to be fixed. The concrete was disintegrated and the resin (not a Belzona resin) that had been applied a few years ago was not efficient anymore and this required removing and replacing.
