Application Situation
Leaking air handler needed repair inside the State Building. No room to line the inside of the air handler because of configuration so and exterior application was chosen.
Application Method
The metal was cleaned and prepped with hand tools, so that any holes could be addressed with Belzona 1161 repair metal and mesh, and then coated over with Belzona 3412. The entire flange and seam was coated to ensure that any out of site leaks or penetrations would be sealed. The applicaiton was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Know-How System Leaflet GSS-11. Rather than making an open flange seal we decided to simply use the system without the release agent and bond the entire area to the substrate. This was done because there was no need to re-access the repaired area after the application was complete.
Belzona Facts
