Belzona® Seals Leaking Welds In Fuel Tank

Application Situation:

Heated Diesel Tank (steam heated to 160°F). Welded doubler plates were found to be perforated and leaking post dry dock.

 
 

Problem:

Cross contamination of fuel/waste water is dangerous to equipment and environment. ship in constant service.

 
 

Products:

Belzona® 1111 (Supermetal)

Belzona® 9341 (Reinforcement Tape)

 

Substrate:

Mild Steel

 
 

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-1. After verifying gas free, surfaces ground, sweated and degreased to an acceptable white rag test.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

Application completed in short day to meet the ships tight schedule which was prime concern.
