Underground section of a seawater pipeline as part of a cooling system for a refinery.

Application Method

The application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Know-How System Leaflet VPF-11.

Belzona Facts

The customer wanted to reinforce and extend the life of the pipeline. As the pipeline is critical to the operation of some of the processes within the refinery, they did not want to shut down the pipeline. Hence, Belzona was requested to offer an online repair. Additionally, due to the pipeline being underground in a difficult to access area, grit blasting was not possible. The qualification of Belzona SuperWrap II onto power tool cleaned surfaces was essential to win the project. The local Belzona Distributor, BS Srl, were crucially able to offer the full compliant pipe wrap service from design through to application, differentiating the Belzona solution from the competition.
