Problem: The inside of this sand filter in a swimming pool was badly damaged by corrosion and chemical attacks, especially chloride. After grit blasting the substrate, through-wall defects were found.

Application Situation
Inside of a filter in a swimming pool damaged by corrosion and chemical attack.
Application Method
The substrate was first prepared by grit blasting, then the pitting was repaired with Belzona 1111. On top of this repair, Belzona SuperWrap reinforcement sheets impregnated with Belzona 1981 resin were applied to restore the structural strength of the filter. Finally, Belzona 5811 was applied on the whole surface inside the tank after a surface preparation of the Belzona SuperWrap using an MBX.
Belzona Facts
The customer had already used Belzona to repair the outside of the tank with through-wall defects.
