Problem: Corrosion had caused heavy damage on cooling water pipe, therefore weakening the jacket. This may have eventually led to a through-wall defect which would cause a costly downtime period.

Application Situation
Steel plant cooling water pipe.
Application Method
After removing the impurities, the pipeline was treated with the Belzona 5831 coating system. Subsequently, the areas were pressed with Belzona 1111 and reinforced with reinforcing sheets. At the end, the entire pipe casing was treated with a two-component coating system for a long-term protection of Belzona 5811 in combination with Belzona 9341 reinforcement tape. 
Belzona Facts
The reinforcement could be carried out whilst the pipe was offline, thereby avoiding costly downtime.
