Problem: The down deck of the tank had been subjected to severe corrosion leading to drips leak of the oil. This needed to be fixed urgently for the plant to continue operating and also avoid environmental hazards from leaking oil.

Application Method
Surface was blasted using Bristle Blaster to remove existing paint and achieve minimum surface profile and cleanliness. Belzona 1212 was applied to seal the leak by cold bonding. Belzona 1212 was re-applied when the first coat reaches its pre-curing time. This application was done overnight because client needed the tank ready in the morning to receive product and thus no plant shutdown.
Belzona Facts
The oil tank was brought back in service without any delays, saving the client lots of money and kept the plant running. Also, Belzona 1212 was chosen and applied because of the excellent surface tolerant and fast curing properties.
