Problem: The ER Duct from the compressor was damage from severe corrosion leading to holes in some areas.

Application Situation
Severe corrosion affected the ER Duct lines creating holes and metal loss. Atmospheric air is the medium that passes through duct.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet TCC-5 rebuilding and protecting steel work and SOS-2 Erosion -corrosion resistant coatings. The surface was prepared by removing previous coating using a Bristle Blaster and then  cleaned with Belzona 9111, then allowed to dry. Belzona 1111 was then applied on the surface to rebuild the lost metal. Once Belzona 1111 was fully cured, Surface was then coated with Belzona 5811 Immersion Grade to prevent surface corrosion.
Belzona Facts
The alternative would have been remove the existing damaged ER Duct lines and then replace with new ones. This would have been very expensive and time consuming, in addition to requiring shutdowns. Downtime would have been a major concern as well as the possibility of galvanic corrosion from dissimilar metals when welding was introduced.
