Problem: Due to the high concentration of sulphuric acid contained in this storage tank (98%), the walls were severely corroded, causing an unn loss of thickness.

Application Situation
Corrosion on the internal side of a storage tank containing sulphuric acid.
Application Method
The inside of the tank was first grit blasted, then Belzona 1121 was used to recover the loss of thickness. Then Belzona 4311 was used to protect the whole internal surface of the tank against sulphuric acid. This application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Kow-How System Leaflet TCC-05.

The benefit for the customer here was the long-term protection against an aggressive chemical which would eventually cause the tank to leak.
