Problem: The internal surface and the ebonite coating of the scrubber were badly damaged by the rough conditions of the process (temperature up to 90degC and presence of chlorides and ammonia).

Application Situation
Internal surface of a scrubber had become damaged in service
Application Method
The substrate was first grit blasted to take off the damaged parts of the ebonite coating and roughen the surface of the steel. Then, the junctions between the ebonite coating (still in good condition) and the steel were chamfered with Belzona 1511. Finally, the whole area was protected with Belzona 1391T. This application has been conducted according to Belzona system Leaflet TCC-5.
Belzona Facts
Despite the bad shape of this equipment, the application only took 4 days from the surface preparation to the application of the final coat of Belzona 1391T.
