Problem: The problem here was that two different metals were situated next to each other causing heavy galvanic corrosion. The customer would have had to replace the whole system if he hadn't used the Belzona solution.

Application Situation

Flange face restored due to the effects of galvanic corrosion.

Application Method

A modified version of Belzona system leaflet VPF-13 was used to carry out this applciation. Surface preparation was carried out with an MBX bristle blaster, the flange face was reformed and built back up in various steps with Belzona 1161. Belzona 5831 was then used to coat the whole flange face to the preexisting internal tube.

Belzona Facts

Within 3 days the whole flange face was restored and was back in full working order, allowing for a quick return to service for the customer.
