Application Situation
The bike rack at a UK college facility was showing significant signs of deterioration, with vast areas of the concrete surface spalled or cracked due to wear and weathering.
Application Method
The metal rack, which was bolted in the concrete, was removed and the surface was inspected for areas of crumbling and loose material. Any loose concrete was chiselled away, ensuring a solid surface. Next, the entire bike rack was pressure washed, removing any contaminants and plant growth. Once dry, Belzona 4911 was used to condition the concrete prior to the application of Belzona 4131. Working across in sections, the bike rack was resurfaced using a float to provide a smooth finish.
Belzona Facts
The Facilities Management team had a week available to carry out necessary repairs during the college's half-term break. The Belzona mortar repair systems were the ideal choice in this instance, being able to receive foot traffic after just a matter of days curing and providing a long-term solution to the issue.
