Application Situation
Seawater filters of a container ship.
Application Method
Aplication was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets VPF-01 , VPF-13. Surface was prepared for mechanical bonding and surface was cleaned with Belzona 9111. Immediately following surface preparation, Belzona 1111 was applied to the surface with stiff brush. Then flange surface was recreated with applicator.
Belzona Facts
Alternative for repairing the flange surfaces is replacement of the flange. Flange replacement will be very costly and time consuming. Another alternative is welding. Welding and machining of the flange surface at workshop is costly and time consuming. Belzona in situ solution for the rebuilding of the damaged areas and prevention of further corrosion was the quick and low cost effective solution.
