Application Situation
Several tank legs were experiencing corrosion. Around distillation sites a specific fungus that feeds from ethanol grows. This fungus creates a rough surface that traps water against a surface. This particular distillery is close to the sea, meaning much of this water would have salt within it. The combination of these two factors gives great potential for the corrosion of any unprotected metal.
Application Method
Blasted to SA2.5 & 75 microns using Sat blast system Two coats of Belzona 5811 then applied in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet TCC-06.
Belzona Facts
The Belzona system was able to protect the legs whilst they were still in place in the bund. Minimal disruption to the surrounding production was caused.
