Photograph Descriptions

1. Mixer drum delivered to workshop

2. Internal substrate prepared

3. Voids between blades filled

4. Completed lining

Application Situation
Newly fabricated mixer drum (2.2m length x 1.5m diameter) used in a chemically aggressive process.
Application Method
The internals of the drum were prepared using conventional grit blasting methods to the required standard.  The paste grade Belzona 1111 was used to fill the voids between the blades. Once cured, three coats of Belzona 4341 were applied by brush. The lining was allowed to cure for 12 hours. Following that 80ᴼC heat was applied for 4 hours to force cure the product and maximise chemical resistance properties. The product was applied in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet TCC-5.
Belzona Facts
Belzona have carried out several protective coating applications for the client in the past so they were confident that Belzona could provide the required chemical resistance to the mixer drum. The application was undertaken at Belzona's fully equipped workshop, allowing them to provide a full turn key service.
