Belzona Coats A Hydro Power Pump Shaft

Application Situation:

In the course of a general refurbishment and performance increase of the pump, a new impeller was installed which changed the profile. This required a change in the contour of the shaft, which is where Belzona was required. The areas of the shaft in contact with water were coated with Belzona 5811.

Problem:

Conditions during operation: Head: 760 m, Power: 195 MW, Speed: 600 rpm Flow rate: 30 m³ / s. A slight increase in abrasion is to be expected within the new build.

The application was completed in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet MPT-01 and CEP-03.

Belzona Facts:

Due to the change in the contour of the shaft, Belzona were chosen due to its proven product ability to perform for this specific application.
