Application Situation:

The flooring of a large company in the industry of surface coating of metals and plastics in Europe had deteriorated which required a long lasting chemical resistant floor coating.

Problem:

The large floor area had cracked as the concrete did not allow for any expansion joints. When the concrete expanded the concrete had cracked in multiple places leaving the client with healthy and safety issues.

Products:

Belzona 5811 was selected due to the large floor area and allowing this product to be spray applied whilst also offering chemical resistance, incorporating a broadcast of aggregate for a slip resistant finish.
Belzona 4521 was used as an Elastomeric sealing system for the expansion joints.

Application Method:

The concrete substrate was abraded to expose the aggregate, the surface was sprayed with Belzona 5811 using airless spraying equipment in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet FPA-3. The expansion joints were filled using Belzona 4521 in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet FPA-6

Belzona Facts:

The client chose Belzona due to using Belzona products in other small areas of the production facility to resist chemical attack. This flooring opportunity was awarded due to the reliability of the Belzona products in the other areas of this facility.
