Application Situation
The steel ductwork had become corroded from salt water spray and NAOH mist. Vibrations from operations caused sections to become disbonded from the framework.
Application Method
Application carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-5. Belzona® 1111 and 1121 were used to bond loose metal to framework when system was out of service and cool. System was then brought up to operating temperature and Belzona® 5851 was used to coat the repaired areas and the entire surface to prevent further corrosion.

Approximately $35,000 in Belzona products were used to save over $400,000 per week in lost production. Alternatives included replacing the metal sheets and frameworks. The Belzona® 5851 surface tolerant feature made this application feasible.
