Problem: This screw conveyor was used for the movement and seperation of media such as glass, plastics and general waste for a landfill site. The harsh media going through the screw conveyor was causing severe abrasion on the screw feed trough leading to regular cracks and repairs through welding, this meant massive regular downtime for the client and they wanted to find a long term solution.

Application Situation
Restoration of a screw feed trough used for waste management. 
Application Method
This application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of system leaflet SMH-07. The surface of the screw feed trough was prepared and cleaned before the top section of the trough was applied with Belzona 1814, the majoriry of the trough was then applied with Belzona 1811. The Belzona 9811 alumina tiles were also incorporated with the Belzona 1811 and Belzona 1814 to create a high abrasion resistant system. 
Belzona Facts
It was agreed a 1.5m trial applciation would be carried out before the whole screw conveyor was to be repaired as this was the clients first time using Belzona. 6 months after the original trial the results showed the Belzona system to still be in excellent service condition. The client was extremely happy with the results and agreed to proceed with the whole screw conveyor.  To follow the strict time scale the whole application was carried out in 2 days and a toal of 180Kg of Belzona 1811 and 1814 was used.
