Leaking Parapets On Grade 1 Listed Church Coated With Belzona 3131

Application Situation:

This grade 1 listed church was suffering with severe water leaks which if carried on would have caused internal damage. Numerous repairs were completed on the existing lead substrate, however it never cured the problem.

 
 

Problem:

Water was leaking through the damaged/cracked parts of the lead parapet.

Belzona 3131 (WG Membrane)

Belzona 9361 Reinforcing Sheet

 

Substrate:

Lead

 
 

Application Method:

The parapet of the roof was cleaned using a Doff machine at 160 degrees. Belzona 3921 conditioner was applied to the substrate and left over night. A first coat of Belzona 3131 was applied whilst laying Belzona 9361 reinforcing sheet over the top. A second coat of Belzona 3131 applied over the top to complete the application. This was completed in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet RPA-06.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

Belzona cost approximately ten times less than using a traditional method such as felt.
