| Belzona Controls Severe Abrasion In A Cone Crusher | | | Industry:Mining and Quarrying (MINQ) | | | Application:Solids Handling Machinery (SHM) | | | Customer Location:Quarry in Croatia | | | Application Date:August 2020 | | | Application Situation:Cone crusher in a quarry suffers from severe abrasion due to transport of sharp-edged rocks, which scrape and collide against the mantle. | | | Problem:Abrasion is most severe on two positions inside the crusher housing - each size of 20x40 cm. In September 2019, we applied two mashes of Belzona 9811 alumina tiles, bonded with Belzona 1121 and grouted with Belzona 1812. After 11 months, approximately half of the surface was still OK, and the other half (more exposed), needed upgrade. | | | Products:Belzona 9811 (Alumina Tiles)
Belzona 1121 (Super-XL Metal)
Belzona 1812 (Ceramic Carbide FP) | | | Substrate:Steel | | | Application Method:The application was carried out according to SHM-7. Surface was cleaned and then prepared with a grinder. | | | Belzona Facts:Customer initially needed a quick repair over the weekend, because the plant operates 24/7 through the working days. Last year, we used the same method as now. After 11 months, some 50% of surface needed upgrade and the rest was still OK. The customer needed to invest only a fraction of last year's price to get the same result as last year. We are looking forward to ongoing business here. | | | Photographs Description1.
