Problem:

Bow thruster tunnels surface has been damaged and metal loss occurred due to high cavitation environment of propeller projection area.

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets SOS-01 and SOS-02. Application surface was prepared with SA2½ grit blasting by shipyard. Then the surface has been cleaned. Belzona 1311 was used to repair severely damaged surface. Belzona 1321 was applied on the propeller projection area to provide protection for future erosion-corrosion damages.

Belzona Facts:

Repairing damaged surfaces with Belzona is faster and cheaper than traditional methods. Belzona coating offers durable protection against seawater erosion/corrosion and cavitation environment. Belzona coatings extends the working life of the bow thruster tunnels.
