Application Situation
A length of 2 m and a width of 0.5 m, in the lower part of the bottom of the tank, the steel wall thinned from 5 mm to 4.2 mm; 3.8mm; 2.4mm in one place 1.8mm with one leak (a hole with a diameter of 5mm).It occurred as a result of abrasion in this area and sub-cladding corrosion. The bottom of the tank rests on the concrete foundation. The Tank diameter - 20m, mild steel St3S, conical bottom. The original sheet thickness 5mm. Working temperature in the tank 30-40 degrees C.
Application Method
To begin with abrasive blasting were completed in accordance with International Standards followed by removal of dust and degreasing.Repair of perforation and strengthening the shell weld with Belzona 1111 composite Belzona 9341 we completed in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet TCC-01
Belzona SuperWrap II system application was used to repair most areas exposed to erosion then followed by application of Belzona 5821 as a top coat. Completed in accordance with an adapted version of VPF-11 and TCC-03
Concrete expansion Joints beneath the steel jacket that came in contact were completed in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet FPA-06 where Belzona 2911 and Belzona 2211 were applied.
