Problem: To use classical kind of repair was problem (too thick wall) also new pipe bend was not available.

Application Situation

Customer destroyed a PVC pipe bend (diameter 160 mm, wall thickness 10 mm, with hydrostatic pressure, temperature up to 20°C) during some cooling tower dismounting and maintenance.

Application Method

The application was performed in accordance with modified Belzona system leaflet VPF-8. Firstly we made the test with Belzona 1221 application on the small area of this bend. Adhesion was perfect. Then we started to repair the entire crack. We terminated the crack by drilling 6 mm hole at the end to prevent further propagation, "veed" out crack with a hand held machine, then roughened it using the Belzona roughing brush. After chemical cleaning was Belzona 1221 applied.

Belzona Facts

Customer needed to solve this problem very express, but he did not keep this pipe bend on the stock. Belzona 1221 repair was rapid, perfect and also cheap solution in compare with the price of the new pipe bend (1.300 €)
