Application Situation:

The customer at the gravel plant has been struggling with abrasion issues due to fine dust from earth, stone and mud on the fan wheel.

 
 

Problem:

The customer experienced strong abrasion issues on the inside and outside of the blades. The impeller rotates at approx. 2500 revolutions. In addition, temperatures of 150 to max 200 ° C prevail.

Application Method:

The fan impeller was grit blasted in accordance with the standard Belzona surface preparation. They then applied Belzona 1391T and attached the Belzona 9811 Alumina tiles to offer extra abrasion resistance and grouted with Belzona 1813 in accordance with a modified version of Belzona system leaflet SHM-7. 

 
 

Belzona Facts:

The client tried to weld with various material (hard metal) unfortunately it was unsuccessful. They then turned to Belzona to offer a solution for abrasive environments.
