Problem: The customer had previously performed two repair attempts using traditional repair methods. During the previous repair, the sealing was covered with a chemically resistant sheet. This solution was verified by high temperature and aggressive medium. Frequent and intensive washing during the production process caused the sheet to detach, which resulted in increased leaks between the concrete surface and the metal outflow, which resulted in further degradation of the substrate under the sheet and along the drain line. Repeatedly performed traditional repair methods assisted with the use of sheet metal covers have proved ineffective.

Application Situation
One of the world's largest producers, distributors and sellers of non-alcoholic beverages need a solution for a drain on a CIP installation.
Application Method
Applied using Belzona Know How System Leaflet FPA-3 Incision and forging of the degraded substrate around the drain. Ensuring the surface was clean, rough and dry. Application of Belzona 4981 activator to the prepared substrate. Rebuild larger cavities with a mixture of quartz sand and Belzona 4154 resin. Application of a chemical-resistant lining with Belzona 4181 composite, approx. 6 mm thick, on the rebuilt surface.
