Problem: 24m steel blast door slightly of square causing fouling on roller system operation. Although the door is square across the length there is a slight twist in the steel at either end which needs to have a tolerance of zero mm

Application Situation
Cold plate bonding on 24m 160 tonne blast door.
Application Method
Belzona 1151 was applied to substrate along with sacrificial shim plates to leave a flush steel finish for the roller system to be able to function correctly. The belzona was applied in various thicknesses from 1mm to 6mm to achieve a plum finish from top to bottom.
Belzona Facts
The only alternative to this repair would be to cut and reweld the door ends but that would not guarantee solving the problem.
