Application Situation

Severe corrosion on top of the tank leading to pinholes.

Application Method

Clean Top of the Steel Tank. Needle Gun used to remove Heavy Scale from Years of Corrosion. Surface SpongeBlasted to a SSPC-SP10 Near White Condition. If the surface preperation perforated the metal, the repair was Cold Bonded with a plate repair using Belzona 1121. One Coat of Belzona 4911 Conditioner. Install Belzona 4131 to create a slope for the water to Evacuate from the middle on both sides of the tank. Top Coat with Belzona 5811

Belzona Facts

Repair needed to be performed in a timely manner. The generator is part of local municipality energy redundancy plans and was down awaiting tank repair. Welding or replacement was not an economical option due to overall substrate conditions, fire risks, and the expense of custom fabrications.
