Problem: The flange failed which needed a high temperature solution to delay replacement until the next shutdown.

Application Situation

Heat Exchanger flange at a local food plant was leaking heavily.

Application Method

Grit Blasted Flange,the the flange was packed in with Belzona 1511 applied over entire repair area, filling any voids. Applied Belzona 1983 resin to the surface and the started the wrap with Belzona Superwrap II .

Belzona Facts

The customer needed a solution until capital improvement funds came through to replace the unit. Belzona products were utilized as a "band-aid" originally to get to the next shutdown. However, the repair is still in service without any leaks almost a year after install. The customer is very happy with the repair and so far has saved $500,000+ in downtime and replacement costs.
