Application Situation
A hospital in Houston needed to install lighting on the roof for better aesthetics and functionality.
Application Method
Aluminum angle brackets were to be bonded to the substrate in order to bolt on LED fixtures. The bottom of the brackets together with the substrate were prepared with a grinder to create a rough and clean profile. Belzona 4911 primer was used in all concrete locations. Belzona 1161 was applied to both the bracket bottom and substrate at about 1/16" inch thick. The bracket was then firmly pressed down to the substrate and exuded material was used to chamfer around the edges. Once in place, holes were drilled into the brackets and the LED fixtures were installed.
Belzona Facts
Over 500 brackets were installed via plate bonding. The plates were bonded along the entire perimeter of the roof.
