Application Situation

A stainless steel head to a pressure vessel has a hairline crack along a weld.

Application Method

Cracks were found using dye penetrate. All cracks were terminated, holes drilled and tapped 3/8" deep, and set screws installed. Belzona 1511 was used to flush out and rebuild the circumferential weld. Belzona SuperWrap II was applied on both the internal and external surface as a 6 layer system. Belzona 1593 was applied to the internals as a 2 coat system for additional protection.

Belzona Facts

Application completed over the weekend. Still in service after 2 years. Amine service at 250 F.
