Application Situation:

A sump within a whiskey distillery required repair and coating to improve the cleanliness & aesthetics of the area.

Problem:

The sump had deteriorated through spillages & nearby leaks. Limited downtime was available for these works as they were to be carried out during a shutdown.

Application Method:

The floor & walls were power washed & mechanically prepared with floor grinders. The full floor surface was then repaired with Belzona 4131 to provide a level, hard wearing surface. Fillets were also installed around the perimeter. Following this two coats of Belzona 5811 were applied to the floor & walls.

Belzona Facts:

By using Belzona 4131 the works were able to be completed in a matter of days rather than waiting weeks for newly poured concrete to cure sufficiently to accept a coating over the top. The Belzona 5811 coating system provides chemical protection with an aesthetically pleasing finish.
