Application Situation:

Sea pump valve at a Thermal Power Plant.

Problem:

The valve on an Alstom sea pump suffered from erosion due to sea water and needed to be repaired and protected against future wear along with other parts of the pump.

Belzona 1111 (Super Metal)
Belzona 9341 (Reinforcement Sheet)
Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal)

Substrate:

Cast Iron

Application Method:

The valve was rebuilt on the inside using Belzona 1111 and then reinforced using Belzona 9341 before being overcoated using Belzona 1321. The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet PDP-05.

Belzona Facts:

The turbine is still in service today and is holding up well to it's operational environment - the customer therefore approves of the quality of the repairs and durability of the Belzona products used.
