2. Wetting out Reinforcement Sheets

3. Reinforcement Sheets Applied to Pipe Contour

4. Belzona Composite Pad Bonded to the Pipeline

Application Situation
Prior to the Composite Pad applications, the Client had used rolled steel plates bonded with Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) to arrest the external corrosion and provide extra strength to the fuel pipes until they could be cut out and replaced.
Application Method
A Belzona SuperWrap II Composite Pad was fabricated to the exact dimensions of the pipe, on-site by qualified SuperWrap II Contractors. The cured Composite Pad was then bonded in place using Belzona 1111 (Super Metal). Due to its lightweight nature, the application could be applied by just two technicians.
The application was carried out with a modified version of Belzona System Leaflet VPF 15.
Belzona Facts
A spokesperson for the oil refinery said: “This week, we installed our first Belzona composite pad to one of our main fuel lines at our oil refinery. The installation process was simple and effective along with being ergonomically friendly for the installers, given the significant weight difference to that of a steel plate.”
