Problem: The water had produced an erosion/corrosion effect in several sections of four different parts of the Turbine. The biggest damage was located in the seal perimeter of the facing plate.

Application Situation
Complete Overhaul of all the parts and sections of a Francis Turbine. The turbine needed maintenance after 15 years of operation.
Application Method
Repairs were carried out utilizing Belzona Know-How System Leaflets CEP-4, CEP-5 and ENC-5.
Belzona Facts
The customer decided to make a complete maintenance using Belzona´s products after we had repaired the shaft in 2004 with excellent results. The actual damaged part had a diameter of 3.8 m which was rebuilt, machined and rectified to precise measurements fot its assembly.
