Belzona® Maintains Francis Turbine

Application Situation:

Complete Overhaul of all the parts and sections of a Francis Turbine. The turbine needed maintenance after 15 years of operation.

 
 

Problem:

The water had produced an erosion/corrosion effect in several sections of four different parts of the Turbine. The biggest damage was located in the seal perimeter of the facing plate.

Belzona® 1321 (Ceramic S Metal)

Application Method:

Repairs were carried out utilizing Belzona Know-How System Leaflets CEP-4, CEP-5 and ENC-5.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

The customer decided to make a complete maintenance using Belzona´s products after we had repaired the shaft in 2004 with excellent results. The actual damaged part had a diameter of 3.8 m which was rebuilt, machined and rectified to precise measurements fot its assembly.
