Problem: Severe erosion, corrosion to body. The Power Station tried to order new ones but were told the delivery was upwards of 6 months! As they were right at the end of the shutdown this was not suitable.

Application Situation
After 10 years in service these "ducks feet", situated at the bottom of the CW pipework, were found to be in very bad condition. There were 4 units to re-furbish.
Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets VPF-1 and -2. Substrate was washed and blasted several times to remove salts and to provide correct surface for application. The badly eroded areas were re-built with Belzona® 1311 and then each was given 2 coats of Belzona® 1321.

The power station were not only delighted with the re-furbished items, but the speed of the service and significant savings on new equipment. At the time Belzona contractor were coating the CW Pumps.
