"Ducks Feet" Refurbished With Belzona

Application Situation:

After 10 years in service these "ducks feet", situated at the bottom of the CW pipework, were found to be in very bad condition. There were 4 units to re-furbish.



Severe erosion, corrosion to body. The Power Station tried to order new ones but were told the delivery was upwards of 6 months! As they were right at the end of the shutdown this was not suitable.



Belzona® 1311 (Ceramic R Metal)

Belzona® 1321 (Ceramic S Metal) 





Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets VPF-1 and -2. Substrate was washed and blasted several times to remove salts and to provide correct surface for application. The badly eroded areas were re-built with Belzona® 1311 and then each was given 2 coats of Belzona® 1321.


Belzona Facts:

The power station were not only delighted with the re-furbished items, but the speed of the service and significant savings on new equipment. At the time Belzona contractor were coating the CW Pumps.
