Problema:

Failure of the internal lining had lead to wall thinning and a through wall defect. NDT was used to define the thinned area.

Belzona® 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal)

Belzona® 9341 (Reinforcement Tape)

Método de aplicación:

A steel patch was welded into position in the area of the through wall defect. A base layer of Belzona® 1311 was applied followed by Belzona® 9341. The whole process was then repeated and a layer of Belzona® 1311 applied to give a smooth finish.

 
 

Hechos Belzona:

This repair was evaluated extensively by the maintenance team prior to being undertaken. Defects were ground into pipespools and the pipespools were then wrapped in the manner described above. These were then successfully pressure tested prior to undertaking the actual repairs.
