Problem: Erosion/corrosion caused pitting damage on the screw conveyor surface. Damage due to the beets as well as rocks and gravels.

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet SHM-14.

Belzona-Fakten

The customer had carried out a trial using Belzona 1321 over a 2 years period. the coating only showed minor wear (<10% of the surface). It was therefore decided to protect the entire screw using Belzona 1331, which should provide long term erosion protection. As the installation of the screw require work involving a crane, extending the life of the screw in service in critical for this plant in order to save time and money.
