Problem: A large concrete tank used for supplying potable water for 3 of the neighboring cities was severally damaged internally. The cracked concrete was causing water to leak out of the external wall of the tank onto the road.

Application Situation
Repairing and coating of a concrete tank used for storing potable water.
Application Method
The concrete tanks were were pressure washed to get rid of any loose bits of concrete and to clean the tank walls before coating. As parts of the concrete walls were severely cracked, Belzona 1161 was used to fill in the damaged area. Finally Belzona 5831 was chosen to be applied onto the damp concrete as it is a product that cures in immersion.

As these tanks were providing water to 3 of the neighboring cities, the application team only had 6 hours at a time to carry out the application before the tanks had to start being pumped back up with water again.
