Completed Belzona repair restoring the damaged bucket elevator belt for return to service.

Application Situation
The damaged bucket elevator conveyor belt required immediate restoration to minimize production downtime during plant operations. Replacing the conveyor belt would have involved higher costs, longer lead times, and extended shutdown. Belzona was selected as a rapid, cold-applied repair system capable of restoring the damaged section within the available maintenance window while extending the service life of the existing belt.
Application Method
Loose and damaged rubber was removed before the repair area was thoroughly cleaned and degreased. Belzona 2911 (Elastomer QD Conditioner) was applied to condition the rubber substrate and promote optimum adhesion. Belzona 2221 (MP Fluid Elastomer) was then applied together with Belzona 9341 Reinforcement Sheet to restore the structural integrity of the damaged belt. The repair profile was rebuilt using Belzona 2211 (MP Hi-Build Elastomer), followed by the application of Belzona 2131 (D & A Fluid Elastomer) as the final protective topcoat, completing the repair and preparing the belt for return to service.
Belzona Facts
Belzona was selected because it provided a rapid and cost-effective alternative to replacing the damaged conveyor belt. The cold-applied repair system eliminated the need for hot vulcanization and enabled the damaged section to be restored within a short maintenance period. The combination of Belzona elastomeric materials and Belzona 9341 Reinforcement Sheet produced a durable, flexible repair with excellent adhesion to the rubber substrate, allowing the customer to quickly resume production while extending the operational life of the conveyor belt.
