Problem: The corrugated roof suffered from multiple through holes created by severe corrosion. The content of the digester tank was methane gas, and mechanical surface preparation was undesirable due to the flammability of the content.

Situation before application

The holes were sealed by using Belzona 1161 supported with metal wire mesh

A replicated steel plate was fabricated and bonded over the entire affected area.

Application completed after top coated with Belzona 5831 in two coat system.

Application Situation

The existing corrugated roof had corrosion damaged under the insulation due to water ingress and it was not inspected for many years.

Application Method

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How system leaflet TCC-5.
