Application Situation:

Gas transmission pipeline operating at pressure of 1300psi

Problem:

Pipeline was highly corroded due to external corrosion. Over 60% wall loss was measured on the pipe. Isolating the pipe to change this corroded section would cost millions in production loss.

Belzona® 5811 (Immersion Grade)

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets VPF-11a & TCC-5. Following grit blasting, Belzona 1121 with reinforcement sheet was used to rebuild the wall loss. Belzona 5811 was applied over the repair area to offer corrosion protection.

Belzona Facts:

This repair was completed online and with ambient temperature of 55°C (131°F). and avoided production losses. Following this application, an independant inspection company has approved the repair. 2 years later, the pipe is still in perfect condition and the custoner is considering extending the Belzona solution to other sections of the pipeline.
