Metropolitan Borough Council in UK

Application Date:

January 2003

Application Situation:

Footbridge linking multi-story car park to shopping centre

Problem:

The enclosed footbridge suffered condensation which made the existing rubber floor covering very slippery.

Products:

Belzona® 5231 (SG Laminate)

Substrate:

Concrete

Application Method:

After removing existing rubber covering and old adhesive and cleaning the concrete, two coats of Belzona® 5231 were applied with additional Belzona® 9221 (Surefoot Aggregate) sprinkled onto top the coat to provide additional non-slip properties.

Belzona Facts:

Application was completed in the three-day window in which closure of the footbridge was allowed. When examined recently, the coating is still providing a safe walking surface for pedestrian.
