Problem: To avoid water and debris from getting between the skid and deck, the gap between the two had to be sealed. Hot work would take weeks to weld the entire perimeter as the gap was 1.5" in some places. The seal also needed to be flexible to absorb any possible vibration.
Photograph Descriptions
  1. Gap between skid and deck.
  2. Holes in deck repaired with Belzona 1121.
  3. Surfaces primed with Belzona 3921 and gap filled with Belzona 2211. Belzona 9331 is test fitted to bridge interface.

Application Situation
A new skid package was welded to the deck but did not sit flush, due to uneven surfaces. The deck was losing metal from corrosion and had sevral holes in it.
Application Method
The areas of the deck suffering from metal loss were repaired with Belzona 1121. Then, all surfaces were primed with Belzona 3921 prior to using Belzona 3111 as a flexible sealant. The gap between the deck and skid was filled with Belzona 2211. Belzona 9331 was saturated with Belzona 3111 to bridge over interface.
Belzona Facts
