Belzona® Lining For Heat Exchanger Sump

Application Situation:

The hospital decided to recover heat from the waste water in their laundry by installing a heat exchanger.



The system required a sump for the waste water to pass through, and having drilled it from solid concrete, it had to be lined and sealed.



Belzona® 4141 (Magma Build)

Belzona® 4181 (Magma AR Screed)





Application Method:

Application carried out in accordance with modified version of System Leaflet TCC-9. First a new base to the sump was created using a paving slab. Belzona® 4141 was applied to fill the damage caused by the drill cores. Belzona® 4181 was then screeded over the entire surface to provide heat resistance.


Belzona Facts:

Prior to the Belzona solution they had been looking at trying to cement line then insert a stainless steel box liner.
