Belzona 1212

Problem: When the pipes were installed through the concrete wall, a grout was used to seal the area around the pipe. After many years of use, the grout began to fail, resulting in raw sewer water leaking into the pump room.

Application Situation

Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with TCC-5 Belzona System Leaflet. A grinder was used to remove the paint and the loose and damaged grout around the pipe. The leak was depressurized by lowering the contents of the concrete tank. The crack was explored until it became clear we were into solid concrete and had identified the exact location of the source of the leak. We discovered the raw sewer water was coming through on the bottom right area, but was splitting and coming through the wall there, as well as coming through the wall in the top left area. Both areas were packed full of Belzona 1212 and smoothed over so the Customer could repaint the wall later.
Belzona Facts
The alternative solution was to take the lift station off-line in order to remove all of the grout and re-grout, and then wait for the grout to dry, which would put extra pressure on other lift stations which could in turn cause a failure. This would also be very time consuming, and would have cost considerably more than the cost of the single unit of Belzona 1212.
