Problem: Remove existing coating. Seal Floor from leaking water. Repair damaged tiles, and missing tiles. Provide a non-slip surface. Make cosmeticlly appealing. Ensure easy cleaning. Provide lasting wear-resistance and protection from further damage. The grout between the tiles has been removed over time due to heavy cleaning with bristle brushes, therefore allowing water to bleed through the walls and onto the public walkways, causing a slip hazard and water damage to the dividing walls. After several attempts of regrouting, the customer tried installing a truck liner product to seal the floor. Shortly thereafter, the coating peeled off and created a cosmetic mess and made it difficult to clean. When trying to remove the failed truck liner, several tiles broke and cracked, causing more water issues.

Application Situation

Application Method
The exisiting coating was removed and the substrate profiled for adhesion. Termination points were then taped off. Belzona 4111 was applied to fill in grout lines, cracked tiles, and missing tiles. Then Belzona 5811 was applied and incapsulated with Belzona 9221. The boundary tape was removed, as well as the excess aggregate. A second coat of Belzona 5811 was applied. After cure, drain stoppers were applied and it was pressure tested with water.
Belzona Facts
The Belzona solution reduced downtime and prevented further damage. Alternatives were short lived and the cost of repairing was high. The Belzona solution has been is service for one year and looks like the application was completed now.
