Problem: Constructed with three Rolls-Royce gas turbine engines capable of pushing her to record speeds of 80knots, the jet tube area was suffering from high amounts of erosion and cavitation so when the vessel docked in Germany, Belzona provided a solution.

Application Situation
£100m power boat originally constructed to win the Blue Ribbon title for the fastest trans-Atlantic crossing.
Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance wirth Belzona Know-How System Leaflets SOS-1 & SOS-2. Rebuilding of the damaged area was carried out using Belzona 1111, before being coated with the Belzona 2141 system to provide cavitation resistance. Belzona 1341 was used as the first coat to provide optimum adhesion and corrosion resistance.
Belzona Facts
Belzona was inspected after 3 years and was mostly found to be in perfect condition with only minor damage to the leading edge. The coating had overcome the major cavitation erosion problems and was easily repaired with minimal downtime.
